Singaporean Presidential Election 2011: In Singapore History, it is For the first time that four candidates are eligible to run for Singapore’s third elected presidency. The current term of the President will expire on 1 September 2011.

4 TANS are illegible for the elections Dr Tony Tan, Dr Tan Cheng Bock, Mr Tan Kin and Mr Tan Jee Say. One of these four are going to be the President of Singapore and will be the Head of the State.

Singaporeans will elect their next president on Aug 27, Saturday has been declared an official holiday so each and every citizen go and vote for their new leader. Nomination DAy will be on Aug 17. All four eligible contenders were former deputy deputy prime minister Tony Tan, 71; former MP Tan Cheng Bock, 71; former NTUC Income chief Tan Kin Lian, 63; and former senior civil servant Tan Jee Say, 57.

This year’s presidential election is shaping up to be the hottest since it was last contested in 1993. With 4 contestants for the Presidential Election, how will the results and implications pan out? The much-awaited writ of election, issued by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong yesterday, also said the nomination of candidates will take place at the People’s Association (PA) in Jalan Besar. Lets hope that the best man of these four win. Singaporens are awaiting for their future leader.
