First Lesbian Marriage in Malaysia: Malaysia saw its first lesbian marriage yesterday. Thomas (age 29) and Apple (age 27), both ladies, have offically become the first lesbian couple to get married in Malaysia.
The blissful couple went through their nuptials in a traditional Chinese wedding complete with all its usual trappings, including the picking of an auspicious date, family permissions, dowry, the tea ceremony, which all ended with hugs, red packets and blessings for the couple.
The two had endured a tumultous but loving relationship of more than two years, during which both their parents objected to them being together. Their feelings for each other eventually convinced their parents, who not only relented, but in yesterday's wedding, urged them many times to accompany each other through their lives. The happy though unorthodox affair ended with a wedding dinner hosted by the couple for 400 guests last night.
