Jonathan Rhys Meyers: Jonathan Rhys Meyers was hospitalized in London after a suspected suicide attempt on Tuesday: Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the Irish actor best known for his movies 'Bend it Like Beckham and 'Match Point', has been hospitalized after a suspected suicide attempt, according to the UK's Sun newspaper. Meyers was discovered slumped at his London home by paramedics on Tuesday (28th June 2011).
The actor is reported to have refused the help of medical staff for over 30 minutes, before paramedics were forced to call the police for his own safety. The 'Tudors' star was eventually taken away by ambulance to an undisclosed facility and eventually released on Wednesday. A spokesperson from Scotland Yard said, "Officers were called by London Ambulance Service following reports of a man refusing treatment. The man was taken to hospital".
