Indianapolis 500 Mile Race Schedule

Indy 500: The 100th Anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race Schedule: From all the pre-race pageantry including the singing of “Back Home Again in Indiana”. The playing of “Taps” the balloon release and all the remarkable sights and sounds of the “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing”, there is nothing anywhere in the world quite like the Indianapolis 500.

Exciting events scheduled prior to the dropping of the green flag include: 

The starter’s flag to be delivered to IMS by an Indiana University Health Helicopter

Past Indianapolis 500 winning cars driven by former winners of the race will parade the track.

Cars from the first Indy 500 driven by former winners will tour the Brickyard.

The 1909 Blitzen-Benz, which set a track mile record at IMS in 1910 and 1911, will take a parade lap
