Is Christopher Meloni Leaving Law & Order: SVU?: When Law & Order: SVU returns for its 13th season in the fall, it looks like one cop will have turned in his badge.
Christopher Meloni, who has played Detective Stabler since the series began in 1999, is leaving the show after contract talks broke down, according to TVLine.
There's been no official comment yet from NBC. But the search reportedly is now on for a new partner for Mariska Hargitay.
