Lady Gaga Sports Pregnant Belly On 'Saturday Night Live' SNL: As "Saturday Night Live" wrapped up its 36th season, the show let the evening's megastar guests, Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake, take the reins; a move which meant a revisit of some of JT's classic "SNL" gags and a live television moment only Mother Monster could deliver.

JT started the show insisting that he wouldn't be singing during his latest appearance, only to segue into a ditty during which he busted out his signature falsetto, serenaded a blushing audience member and brought it on home with some soulful trills.

But JT didn't stay on the anti-singing kick for long, popping up in the first sketch as an overeager street marketer in a beer-bottle costume armed with booze-friendly versions of pop hits. Going up against side-eyes from a prudish, tea-shilling Kristen Wiig, Timberlake countered with pro-imbibing jams like a revamp of DJ Khaled's "All I Do Is Win." Lady Gaga got in on the action, too, tottering on set in a snug vine-swathed frock with goblet-shaped glove thingys to join Timberlake for reboot of B.o.B and Hayley Williams' smash "Airplanes," crooning, "I could really use a drink right now." The pair then belted "too much merlot" to Flo Rida's "Low" before switching up the easy-listening staple "Endless Love" to "Endless Buzz," with lines like, "No one can deny/ This hooch I have inside."

Gaga also showed off her comedic skills in a digital short alongside Timberlake and Andy Samberg. After getting some sugar from mature vixens Patricia Clarkson and Susan Sarandon, JT and Samberg hit the streets in Color Me Badd fresh jumpsuits and leather bombers only to both show up at Gaga's door clutching Alize and Bartles & Jaymes. Looking in gold hoops and a gaudy getup, the pop supernova welcomed them in for an ode to the ménage a trois. "You're my best friend through thick and thin and now it's time to make a triple connection," the crew belted. "It's OK when it's in a three-way. It's not gay when it's in a three-way!"

Singapore Horse Racing, Singapore Turf Club:  Have you even been to Singapore Turf Club? Last Sunday was my first visit and I was really excited about it...it was my very first time watching horse racing for LIVE!
Horse racing could be entertaining .. provides economic benefits and usually, the horse racing industry advertises itself as "glamorous," but in reality, curelty, exploitation and welfare violations are unavoidable part of this industry.

Whenever you watch horse racing..have this ever crossed your mind? Like..why are some people against horse racing?? What happened to those retired racehorses??..Or how are they treated when they get older and unable to run on the racecourses anymore??

Keep on reading...and I'll share with you the ugly truth of Horse Racing and the shocking fate of the unwanted thoroughbreds ( horses bred for racing ).....

Most Horses are forced to race even while injured, causing enormous suffering. Since the profit-making motive, not animal welfare, is the priority, horses are drugged so they can race even when injured.

Most common ways used to enhance a race horse’s performance: Cobra venom injected into a horse’s joints to ease pain and stiffness, and a "milkshake" of baking soda, sugar, and electrolytes delivered through a tube in the horse’s nose to increase carbon dioxide in the horse’s bloodstream and lessen lactic-acid buildup, warding off fatigue.

Once, an article mentioned that batteries are even concealed under a horse’s skin that deliver a shock when the horse is flagging. Laboratories cannot detect every one of thousands of illegal drugs. So cruel!???!! Still.. There are many other ways out there which I couldn't continue to read anymore..

Let's continue...that's not the end of the cruelty. As for the Ex-race horses, they suffer even worse fate.

For thousands of thoroughbreds that are too old, too slow or not good enough jumpers, the end is brutal:

Either a bullet through the temple or a metal bolt into the side of the brain. Then their carcasses are loaded on to freezer lorries and their flesh is sold as gourmet meat for human consumption (Esp in France and Belgium)!!! Some..they are even slaughtered for pet food!

Shaw Cinema

Shaw Cinema brings IMAX to Singapore: After seven months of renovation works and with S$20 million sunk in, Shaw Theatres will re-open Lido Theatres with 11 new cinema halls, including Singapore’s first IMAX Digital Theatre System.

The 10 regular halls opened on May 5, while the IMAX theatre will come later on May 19.

The IMAX theatre is also geometrically designed to maximise the viewer’s field of vision. Its 19m wide screen, which stretches from one end of the hall to the other, will be able to project  2D and 3D movies.

Shaw also snagged an exclusive partnership with IMAX Corp, which means there probably won’t be another cinema chain offering the same service.

As you can see, it’s not exactly cheap. But this is one of those things which you have no way of knowing whether it’s worth the price until you experience it.

In addition to this new attraction, Shaw has also re-designed its 10 regular halls. Of these, six will be capable of screening 3D and digital movies. On the downside, the total number of seats at Lido has been reduced to 1,960 seats, from 2,238 seats previously.

Lido IMAX will debut with Pirate of the Caribbean:  On Stranger Tides, and advance bookings are already Open. Better grab them fast if you’re interested, because sitting in the front row for an IMAX screening will surely be a “neck-sore”!

Mermaids of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides The fourth film in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise had high expectations set for it, and it met most of them. Captain Jack Sparrow is back for some swashbuckling actions in the forth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. So is Hans Zimmer.

This film was classic Jack Sparrow, as developed through the first three movies by the expert Dep, in a story which was not written for him, and it shows.

On Stranger Tides is a novel about pirates of the Caribbean searching for the Fountain of Youth, surely, but Jack Sparrow was not a character in that novel.

Disney wanted to do another supernatural pirates film, and so inserted their own supernatural pirate into the existing story.

Most of the time it works, but occasionally you can tell that this tale was not really meant for our Jack. I guess when you base a franchise of films on an amusement park ride, things like this are bound to happen.

Ai Weiwei Model: Internationally acclaimed Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has been much in the news lately. On 3 April this year he was detained at the Beijing airport while en route to Hong Kong, and his papers and computers were seized from his studio compound.

In Britain, he is possibly best known for his Tate Modern installation “Sunflower Seeds” that was part of the Unilever series, and was shown between 12 October 2010 and 2 May 2011.Tate Modern: “Sunflower Seeds is made up of millions of small works, each apparently identical, but actually unique. However realistic they may seem, these life-sized sunflower seed husks are in fact intricately hand-crafted in porcelain.

 Each seed has been individually sculpted and painted by specialists working in small-scale workshops in the Chinese city of Jingdezhen. Far from being industrially produced, they are the effort of hundreds of skilled hands. Poured into the interior of the Turbine Hall’s vast industrial space, the 100 million seeds form a seemingly infinite landscape.
Porcelain is almost synonymous with China and, to make this work, Ai Weiwei has manipulated traditional methods of crafting what has historically been one of China’s most prized exports. Sunflower Seeds invites us to look more closely at the ‘Made in China’ phenomenon and the geo-politics of cultural and economic exchange today.”

Tiger Air Seeks More Tie-Ups to Expand Asia Budget: Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd. (TGR), the Singapore-based budget carrier, said it may seek more overseas partnerships after agreeing to take stakes in airlines in Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

“We think our franchise is well established” in Singapore, Chief Executive Officer Tony Davis said in a Bloomberg TV interview in the city-state today. “Our objective now is to take that franchise around Asia.”

The carrier, part-owned by Singapore Airlines Ltd., yesterday announced plans to buy a 33 percent stake in Indonesia-based PT Mandala Airlines as it competes with AirAsia Bhd for budget travelers across Southeast Asia. It also reported a 94 percent drop in fourth-quarter profit after its Australian unit suffered from tax charges and a slowdown in demand.

“Tiger’s expansion into developing economies may further lower its cost base as operating expenses are lower in these countries,” Rigan Wong, an analyst at Citigroup Inc., said in a note today. “Tiger Australia may continue to be impacted by uncertain demand recovery and rising competition.” Wong has a “buy” rating on Tiger.

The airline fell 1.3 percent to S$1.53 at the close of trading in Singapore. Its fallen 18 percent this year, while the benchmark Straits Times Index is little changed.

Tiger will keep its capacity in Australia unchanged this year, while boosting operations in Singapore 40 percent, it said yesterday. The Australia unit has faced increasing competition from Qantas Airways Ltd. (QAN)’s budget unit Jetstar and from Virgin Australia.

Davis also said that Tiger is confident partner South East Asian Airlines Inc. will win approval for plans to operate flights in the Philippines using Tiger aircraft. The Philippines’ Civil Aeronautics Board yesterday issued a provisional order barring SEAir from implementing the accord on concerns it breached cross-border flight rules.

“As we adopt practices that are fairly commonplace in other parts of the world, inevitably it will take some time for people to get comfortable with that and understand how that works and assure themselves it complies with rules,” Davis said. “We’re sure it does, SEAir is sure it does -- we need to convince the regulator.”
Philippine Deal

Tiger has agreed to buy a stake in SEAir, which will also fly international services from the Philippines. These overseas flights haven’t been affected by the regulator’s order. Tiger is also forming a low-cost venture in Bangkok with Thai Airways International Pcl.

Tiger’s net income dropped to S$1.3 million ($1 million) in the three months ended March 31 from S$22.3 million a year earlier. Operating profit dropped to S$10.2 million from S$11.8 million on higher fuel costs. Sales increased 16 percent to S$163.2 million.

Mandala Airlines, which is undergoing a financial restructuring, will be 51 percent owned by Sandiaga Uno’s Saratoga Group, Tiger said yesterday. Mandala’s previous shareholders and creditors will have a 16 percent. The deal is pending due diligence, Tiger said.

Oscar De La Hoya Enters Rehab "I Have My Flaws": Oscar De La Hoya is in rehab, seeking treatment for a substance abuse problem. The boxing championship checked into a California-area facility voluntarily within the last few weeks, TMZ found out.

"After doing an honest evaluation of myself, I recognize that there are certain issues that I need to work on. Like everyone, I have my flaws, and I do not want to be one of those people that is afraid to admit and address those flaws," De La Hoya said in a statement.

"Throughout my career and my life, I have always met all challenges head-on, and this is no different. I am confident that with the support of my family and friends, I will become a stronger, healthier person. I ask for respect and privacy as my family and I go through this process."

The Olympic Gold medalist, who commenced to proactive treatment, said he is confident that he would come out a "stronger, healthier person."

Saturday Night Live Lady Gaga Rocked: Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake want you to bring it on down to Liquorville in the new Saturday Night Live season finale sketch. The skit features Gaga dressed as a wine bottle, J.T. as a beer bottle and Kristin Wiig as a tea bag.

Justin Timberlake was the host of last night’s season finale of “Saturday Night Live,” but it was musical guest Lady Gaga who, not surprisingly, grabbed the spotlight.

With her outrageous attire and superstar charisma, the diva dominated the night both on the musical stage and in the comedy sketches.
Sitting behind the piano and wearing a metallic-looking headdress, black shiny top and knee-high boots, Gaga performed a soulful “Edge of Glory” that later morphed into the energetic dance song “Judas” as she and her backup dancers strut their stuff. Then later in the program, the singer emerged from what looked like a capsule and performed “Born This Way,” the title track from her upcoming new album. (Her long ponytail evoked early ‘90s “Blonde Ambition”-era Madonna). After being crowded around her dancers at one point during the number, she reemerged with this big bulge in her midsection—or, as Billboard noted, a baby bump.

Recent Earthquakes: There Have Been a Number of Recent Earthquakes May 21 2011 – Could They Be Connected to Judgement Day?

So the world didn’t end on May 21 2011 – 6pm came and went and the Rapture didn’t take place like Harold Camping said it would.

He predicted that there would be a number of earthquakes on May 21 2011, and in a way he was kind of right. Not the end-of-the-world kind of earthquakes, but a number of strong quakes did hit around the globe today.

An earthquake struck in New Zealand, a magnitude 6.1, near the Kermadec Islands on Saturday, May 21 at 9:17 pm UTC – however, Sunday, May 22, 9:17 am at the epicentre.

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck in the Banda Sea, Indonesia, at 21:37 UTC, however, it was 6:37 am on Sunday May 22 at the epicentre.

Then, in Japan, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck near the coast of Honshu, at 22:06 UTC, but it was 7:06am on Sunday May 22 at the epicentre.
So although it was May 21, 2011 in some parts of the world, it was already May 22 in the places where the earthquake hit.

Could Harold Camping have been wrong about the date and time?
Doubtful, as we’ll still be talking about this years from now, but we thought it was interesting that there have been a number of earthquakes today, and don’t forget the volcano in Iceland erupting as well, that it has been an active day. Rapture or no Rapture.

Preakness 2011 Odds, Updated: Animal Kingdom Still Favorite: Had Animal Kingdom as the favorite to win the 2011 Preakness Stakes; the updated Preakness odds suggest that he's slightly less well-favored this afternoon. The Kentucky Derby champion's odds have risen from Saturday's morning line of 2-1 to 3-1 as of 3:20 p.m. this Saturday, according to the Albany Times-Union, making him a slight favorite over Dialed In.

Animal Kingdom and Dialed In were briefly co-favorites this afternoon at 3-1, but the latter horse has slipped slightly to 7-2 in the most recent odds.

Iceland Volcano 2011

Iceland Volcano Erupts, White Plume Up To 18,000 Feet Seen: Iceland's most active volcano has started erupting, scientists said Saturday – just over a year after another eruption on the North Atlantic island shut down European air traffic for days.

Iceland's Meteorological Office confirmed that an eruption had begun at the Grimsvotn volcano, accompanied by a series of small earthquakes. Smoke could be seen rising from the volcano, which lies under the uninhabited Vatnajokull glacier in southeast Iceland.

A no fly zone has been designated for 120 nautical miles (220 kilometers) in all directions from the eruption. Isavia, the company that operates and develops all airport facilities and air navigation services in Iceland, described this as standard procedure around eruptions.

"The plume of smoke has reached jet flying altitude and plans have been made for planes flying through Icelandic air control space to fly southwardly tonight," said Hjordis Gudmundsdottir, the spokeswoman for Isavia.

Grimsvotn last erupted in 2004. Scientists have been expecting a new eruption and have said previously that this volcano's eruption will likely be small and should not lead to the air travel chaos caused in April 2010 by ash from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano.

History shows that previous eruptions in Grimsvotn have not had much influence on flight traffic – unlike the massive disruption caused last year.

Pall Einarsson, geophysicist at the University of Iceland, said last year's eruption was a rare event.

"The ash in Eyjafjallajokull was persistent or unremitting and fine-grained," Einarsson said. "The ash in Grimsvotn is more coarse and not as likely to cause danger as it falls to the ground faster and doesn't stay as long in the air as in the Eyjafjallajokull eruption."

A plane from the Icelandic Coast Guard carrying experts from the University of Iceland will fly over the volcano and evaluate the situation.

Despite all our achievements and peace and prosperity we have known for so long – in fact, due to this success – we must remember to never be complacent.
