National Day Parade 2011: NDP 2011: Happy 46th Birthday Singapore: National Day Parade is a military parade and accompanying creative show that will be held on 9 August 2011 to celebrate Singapore’s 46th year of independence. National Day Parade (NDP) celebrations will be extended around the Marina Bay waterfront and include more than 100,000 Singaporeans.
For the third time in NDP history, the EXCO is using social media to advertise this year’s parade. Events are being held to increase public participation, related to this year’s theme, “Majulah! The Singapore Spirit”. Colonel (COL) Alvin Kek, Chairman NDP 2011 Executive Committee said, “As we celebrate 46 years of nation-building, we should reflect on how the Singapore Spirit, which is characterised by unity and trust as well as our ‘can-do’ mentality, has enabled us to achieve so much in such a short span of time.”
